Designer and Design Thinker @ IBM Design

Lara Hanlon is a Designer and Design Thinker based in Dublin, Ireland. She is passionate about delivering thoughtful user experiences and beautiful, innovative design solutions to complex problems. As Designer in Residence at IBM Design, Lara collaborates daily with global teams to envision, create, and contribute to design practices, culture creation, strategy, design thinking facilitation and education. Lara also lectures part-time at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design + Technology (IADT).

In addition to designing and educating, Lara is interested in exploring food sustainability. In 2013, she designed and developed éntomo – an online platform used to encourage the consumption of insects as food! éntomo has been awarded at the Shenzhen Design Awards for Young Talent, in association with UNESCO; exhibited at Milan Design Week 2015; tipped as a top 100 startup in Ireland in 2016; showcased at TEDx Dublin, 2017.

An active member of the Irish design community, Lara is also a Professional Panelist at 100 Archive – a living archive that records the past, present and future of Irish graphic design.
